Lumberton, NC, –-(Ammoland.com)- The opening of Cape Fear Arsenal in Lumberton, NC, was just recently announced in May by Governor Pat McCrory, promising to bring 150 jobs to the area.

The company will invest more than $15.2 million over the next three years in ammunition-manufacturing related jobs, and is already on the fast track to production.

Cape Fear Arsenal will begin producing desperately-needed .223 Remington ammunition in July, and will begin selling it via commercial sales channels and an e-commerce application on their web site, https://cfarsenal.com/ in August.

The company expects to produce 2 million .223 cartridges/month. The cartridges will feature 62-grain FMJ bullets in factory-new brass cases.

Starting in January of 2014, the company intends to add capacity, manufacturing 115-grain FMJ and 127-grain JHP 9x19mm ammunition at a minimum production rate of 3 million rounds/month.

Cape Fear Armory will begin manufacturing their own brass and projectiles in-house at this time, and will have the capacity to supply other manufacturers with brass cartridge cases and bullets.

Considering the high demand for both .223 Remington and 9mm at this time, the company’s production will be a godsend to ammo-deprived shooters of these calibers.

The company intends to expand to other calibers as the market demands and the company can add production in 2014.  www.cfarsenal.com

I am happy to see another producer on the market. I hope their prices of the .223 are good and hope they decide to also make 40 cal,.22 LR, .357 Mag, and .38 Spcl. Even though more ammunition is showing up now, I still think they will be kept more than busy.

Lenny—Think about what you just said…2,000,000 rounds a month…that’s just 2,000 people buying 1,000 rounds each month…last week I bought (and shot) 500 rounds of 9mm. Just me! Every round manufactured helps, but 2 myn is just a drop in the demand bucket…the US Government is NOT hoarding ammunition, we shooters are the cause of the problem…

A company can decide whether or not they sell to the gov or not. I would hope they wouldn’t.

Sounds like a Ponzi Scheme.

Happy to see this happening. I will be contacting the company as soon as you are up and running.

We are a small business training operation in Nevada. Your operation will be most appreciated , not only by the good folks of North Carolina,
throughout the USA.

They will be located just down the road from Ft. Bragg. Wonder why they are making military ammo?? :/

I also wish that they would add 22LR to their product line. For some reason 22LR is VERY hard to find.

I agree with Lenny. The demand for .22 LR, .38 cal. and .357 cal. is through the roof. I hope that Cape Fear will look at adding these calibers when they expand. Rick

While increased manufacturing of the ANY caliber ammo is good news, .22LR would be especially welcome!

Lenny

I wish they would make .22 LR, .357 Mag, and .38 Spcl instead of .223.

If they make only old school civilian rounds the public will actually be able to get their hands on it.

If they make 9MM and .223 the government will just buy up all the Ammo.
