Washington DC - -( In the aftermath of new restrictions put in place on Connecticut gun manufacturers when Gov. Dannel P. Malloy (D) signed a 139-page gun control package on April 4, PTR Industries says it is moving to South Carolina as previously reported here.

The gun maker will join Gov. Nikki Haley (R) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Horry County, SC next week.

According to Fox News, the gun maker will employ 140 people, “many of whom will relocate from Connecticut.”

PTR’s chief executive officer, Josh Fiorini, says the move will take place over the course of three years.

Forty-one states reached out to PTR after Connecticut’s new restrictions were signed into law. The company whittled that list down to six finalists, out of which South Carolina was chosen.

    1. When Connecticut wakes up from this and finds that a lot of their revenue from the gun industries and their people leaving for the South, they may finally realize they made a mistake. By then, it will be too late. I will be laughing when they start crying about the tax revenue they have lost in their state. Liberals are going to find out the hard way again, they can’t have it both ways all the time. Bad decisions give bad results. There is no one to blame this on but liberals and their attacks on the gun industry.

    3. Come on down. We do dearly love all that yankee payroll money coming into the South. And on top of that, we really appreciate those manufacturing companies that produce hard products and employ our labor force. Sorry Connecticut but your stupidity is our gain.

Well done, PTR. To you, Connecticut liberals, I leave you with words of wisdom from none other than John Wayne (the original Chuck Norris): “Life is tough, but it’s tougher when you’re stupid.”

    5. Great Move PTR, I hope that they ALL move out of the North East, because the South is where the Free States are. It’s time for Remington and Colt, along with others to make the move South. Why pay Taxes to people that are trying to put you out of business?

    6. I live on a border town in Rhode Island and CT ironically is showing not only their hypocrisy, but hostility to a once proud Industry that used to be the envy of the United States. Unfortunately, the left has a strangle hold on that state. I for one will be happy if/when they lose the “crown jewel”, Colt. And no, the citizens will not care if they do lose their gun Industry. Luckily, some will get it and make the move to RI (probably not Mass., since they are just as unfriendly to all gun related businesses too). I love my PTR GI!
