New Jersey –-(Ammoland.com)- The NJ2AS Twitter Army has been a wildly successful component in the recent #FixTheNICS campaign throughout New Jersey.

Those of you taking part in our Twitter Campaigns did a fantastic job of turning up the heat on the New Jersey State Police and Governor Christie using our #FixTheNICS hashtag.

We sent out thousands of Tweets all across the country, making America aware that the New Jersey “Instant” NICS Check was taking between 14 to 21 days to complete. We received comments from Texas, Pennsylvania, California, Florida, Oregon, and tens of other States telling us how long their NICS checks were taking. It became a huge embarrassment to New Jersey.

The end result is that today, many involved in the #FixTheNICS campaign received a Tweet from @NJSP, the Twitter account for the New Jersey State Police, telling us that the Instant NICS in New Jersey is now 15 minutes, as it should be.

Congratulations to each and every one of you that participated in our #FixTheNICS Campaign! If you have not already received a Tweet from @NJSP, you should be shortly. About an hour ago I received this Tweet:

NJSP – State Police ‏@NJSP1h

@HindaRifka Amy, FYI, the New Jersey NICS backlog is gone and NJ is completing average check in 10 minutes #NJSP #FixTheNICS #NJ2AS

If you did receive a Tweet from @NJSP, please respond politely and thank them for realizing that there was a problem and for fixing that problem. As of right now I want you to stop all Tweets except the Christie ones. No more #FixTheNICS, not more #LIAR #LIAR Weinberg, no more Open Mic Mainor (I’ll still be poking Greenwald & Sweeney with a stick if you want to join me.)

We are going to concentrate on getting Christie to VETO the #NewNJGunLaws.

Do not think this was a small victory, my friends. What you did on Twitter was a big deal! You embarrassed New Jersey and the NJ State Police into correcting a problem that has gotten progressively worse since Newtown. You pointed a big shiny light on a failed system and the entire country got to see it, up close and personal. You did that! You did that all with your Twitter accounts and your voice multiplied by the NJ2AS Twitter Army. Thank you all very much for a job very well done.

Take a victory lap my Happy NJ2AS Twitter Warriors, and now, back to work! TAP is being tweaked, and I will be sending out some new Tweets for everyone shortly. In the meantime, take a moment to bask in this glory. You all earned it!

Warm regards,
Amy

Message from NJ2AS President:

Dear Members and Supporters,

I would also like to add my personal thanks to everyone who participated in this campaign. It is extremely gratifying to know that we can count on you when we need to accomplish a critical task. In the coming months, we are going to be asking even more of you. We need volunteers who are willing to put boots on the ground and help us to get rid of the incumbents who have brought this reign of gun control down on us. We are also going to need people to work with us at shows and events to help spread this message. Please let our volunteer coordinator know that you are willing to help by emailing him at [email protected]. Please indicate how you are willing to help. Please understand that the only way we can change New Jersey is with YOUR help. Thank you very much for everything you do for the Society.

Sincerely,

Frank Jack Fiamingo
President – NJ2AS
