Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott

Texas --(Ammoland.com)- Your Liberty — as a United States citizen — was weakened and threatened yesterday when the Obama Administration helped the United Nations pass the Arms Trade Treaty.

Immediately after this disappointing vote, I wrote a letter to President Obama urging him not to sign the treaty.

If the President signs the treaty allowing the UN to be involved in regulating firearms in the U.S. , Texas will lead the charge to have the treaty overturned in court as a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

I need your support.

Please help us get the word out by Tweeting right now, (<–click to tweet) and forwarding the link to this article to 5 of your friends.

Together, we can make a difference. America is exceptional in part because our Constitution safeguards our individual liberties – including the right to keep and bear arms enshrined in the Second Amendment.

The new UN treaty threatens your rights:

  • It doesn’t recognize the individual right to keep and bear arms or the fundamental right to defend yourself, your family, or your property;
  • It empowers a new UN bureaucracy focused on firearms restrictions that will be run by international bureaucrats who are not accountable to the people of the United States .
  • It could impose firearm registration requirements that may empower international authorities to get information about American citizens and businesses.

This UN treaty does more than trample Second Amendment rights. It also threatens to erode all liberties guaranteed to Americans in the Constitution by giving the UN power to govern our lives.

Please inform 3 of your friends today and forward this important message to 5 of your friends right now.

Your voice must be heard on this issue. When the Constitution says, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” it means no one-including the UN-can infringe upon that right.

UN treaties do not trump the Constitution. And with your help, we will make that message clear to President Obama and this administration.

Sincerely,

Greg Abbott

Thanks Greg. I am proud to be a citizen of Texas where the foundation of our country still means something. I hope we never become a part of the “new world order”.

    2. Without a valid Constitution and Bill of Rights as handed down from our founding fathers, which was the fabric of the Unionization of all the states to become the United States, there will no longer be a United States. Each of the states will again need to decide whether to become Republics, or find some common ground in order to reform this union.
We, the people have been guaranteed the right, not a privilege, to own and bear arms. This right was given to maintain a free state free from tyranny in government, and has kept this nation free.
The last time the people of the United States discussed gun control with another nation, it led to one large blood bath with the British so the United States could be and was born in Democracy.
We, the people, need to maintain our rights as free people in a free nation and not give in to international treaties that would invoke changes to our Constitution. Our Law Makers all over this land have sworn an OATH of OFFICE to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
If our law makers are NOT willing to uphold their OATH and obligation, they need to be recalled and replaced with ones that will.

Obama doesn’t care because he can’t be recalled, yet. This is something that needs to be introduced and partisans signed by the millions. He knows he doesn’t have to run for re-election, yet.

    4. When anyone challenges why we need to defend the 2nd Amendment, answer because Government has already tampered with and altered another part of the Constitution!

      Share if you Care

If you were a dirty government employee like a politician, judge, prosecutor, IRS, etc., you would remove any legal threat if you could right? Even if its part of the Constitution? Yup…

Here is the first successful attack upon our constitution, and so far, it has been successful. It was perpetrated domestically, by bad men who removed the ultimate anti-corruption tool our founding fathers gave us, but it remains because good people do nothing about it. Here are three links explaining it:

    5. I am happy to say I was born and have remained a citizen of the Great State of Texas. Our representatives still believe in the traditional way of life and in the Constitution and Bill of Rights as they were handed down from the Founding Fathers of the United States.
We have the finest Governor in the United States with Rick Perry, our Attorney General is among the best in the country, thank you Mr. Abbott, and let’s not fail to mention Ted Cruz, Steve Stockman, and all the others who continue to fight for our freedoms each and every day.

    6. Mike,

With all respect, sounds like you need to leave the Great “State” of Texas and emigrate to the Great “Republic” of Texas.

And then remember what the Gonzales flag says.
