Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- On Tuesday, July 9, 2013 Attorney General Lisa Madigan filed a motion in the United States District Court for the Southern District, Benton, Illinois division, to dismiss the Illinois State Rifle Association and Mary Shepard case.

Lisa Madigan is saying that since Illinois has passed a concealed carry law, the case is moot and should be dismissed.

On Wednesday, July 10 2013, attorneys for the Illinois State Rifle Association and Mary Shepard filed a motion requesting a permanent injunction against the State of Illinois because even though the concealed carry bill has passed, people are still not allowed the right to carry and won’t be for at least another 270 days.

In short, our civil rights are still being violated even though the concealed carry bill has passed.

Furthermore, because neither the federal court decision nor the new Carry Act have repealed the AUUW and UUW statutes, law enforcement will continue to enforce both statutes unless a citizen has a valid carry license. We have asked for immediate relief by Tuesday, July 16, 2013. We are asking that citizens with FOID cards be allowed to carry in compliance with provisions in HB0183. We will keep you informed with the court’s decision.

This will be a long, protracted fight and your donation will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for being a member or supporter.

Bring this to the attention of your lawmakers. They propose the laws.

Guess not many read this. But I have posted this other places! Something to think about. We pay for drivers licence we pay for plates for our cars pay for permits to repair our homes? But none of them are in our constitution as a right! So what may I ask are we paying for the right to carry a weapon for? It is in the constitution!

Southern Illinois should watch whats happening in Colorado very closely

Johnny ya do have that right. This women got beat nearly to death and had to fight for constitutional right do you think it would have changed if she had died? No she would have been just another victim. And it would have gone on. 40 years we have lived under a law that has cost countless people there lives. And still the politicians want to keep a unconstitutional law.

Lisa Madigan never does anything fast from that alone she and rest of politician’s are up to no good again. Surprise its Chicago politics at work. And I have looked and listened! There not going to be any repeal the old UUW law so even if you do everything correct as a conceal carry holder there will be a way to arrest you for something. Its a double cross and we do not have CCW yet. Madigan wants this dropped fast for a reason that I am sure of. And it will not be in our favor.

Its fascinating how law abiding citizens have to raise money, sue, petition, scream, yell, write letters, call legislators and recall legislators all just so they can exercise their 2nd amendment right. Meanwhile the thugs and gangbangers just leave home with their stolen guns hidden on them so they can rob and attack defenseless, unarmed people.
