Titusville, FL -We all are part of the human race.
Many of us are members of the Mystical Body of Our Living Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the God-given integrity, even sanctity of human life.
Today, most unfortunately, the world is in the throes of what Blessed John Paul termed the “culture of death.” It denies explicitly the sanctity of human life. It tolerates and even promotes the destruction of innocent life.
In the United States, there are several manifestations of this phenomenon.
One of course is the abortion movement. This denies the right to life of the unborn. No matter what the excuse or rationale, abortion is the unjustified taking of innocent life, murder.
Another manifestation of the anti-life phenomenon is euthanasia, the murder of the aged, infirm, sickly or incompetent. Although many reasons or excuses may be given for euthanasia policies, the bottom line morally is still the same, murder.
A third aspect of the modern phenomenon is the movement to deny a right to defend life against an unjustified attempt to destroy life. This includes a denial of the right to self-defense. Like a chameleon, it can assume many forms such as public safety promotion, crime control, or gun control. However, its bottom line also is always the same, the denial to innocent people of the right to use force to protect innocent life.
Many powerful government officials and media, entertainment and education personalities are spokespeople for the culture of death. Hopefully, they will see the error of their ways. Otherwise, we shall have to defeat them in the public arena.
