Washington DC - -(Ammoland.com)- A national poll conducted by Quinnipiac University shows that a majority of Americans support “Stand Your Ground” laws.
Released on August 2, the poll shows Americans support “Stand Your Ground” laws by 53 to 40 percent.
Among respondents to Quinnipiac’s poll, whites supported “Stand Your Ground” 57 to 37 percent and men supported such laws 62 to 34 percent. Republicans supported the measure 75 to 19 percent and independents supported it 57 to 37 percent.
At the same time, black respondents opposed “Stand Your Ground” 57 to 37 percent and Democrats opposed it 62 to 32 percent.
Moreover, voters in “households where someone owns a gun” support “Stand Your Ground” by a margin of 67 to 29 percent.
