Newtown Grandmother Fears Gun Control Makes Her Less Safe

Washington DC - -( As gun permit requests in Newtown, Connecticut skyrocket, one “soon-to-be gun-toting grandma” is worried about the consequences of gun control.

The New York Daily News reports 66-year old Nancy Ellis is concerned that her right to keep and bear arms may be in jeopardy: “The fact that they were reeling in and squeezing more laws made me think, ‘You know what? I want my gun permit. I want to exercise my right.’”

As Breitbart News has pointed out, gun control hurts women especially. And Ellis says “she wants a gun to protect herself.”

Ellis asked what she’s supposed to do if unarmed and faced with an intruder?

“What am I going to do? Throw water at him? Get a knife? Go get a pair of scissors? When he has a gun potentially?”

Although  Piers Morgan does not “want to see all the women in America armed with guns,” Ellis is getting one because she refuses to be a victim.

    1. This is a great first step for this woman but please remind people that after buying a gun they should get some training.

    2. @johnny,I agree 100%,a person can’t get too much training.

At least she has the courage to go against the leftist leanings of the mainstream press.. that so far has only presented a one-view opinion of this matter, and that is anti-gun.

Good for Ms. Ellis, but in any case I suspect she could kick the sh*t out of Piers Morgan without it.

We need two new federal laws passed , as much as I despise federal laws , Number one “no one can get a drivers license without a high school diploma , and GED’s don’t count , and number twp , no one should get a high school diploma without firearms training .

Good for Her! Buy the gun that feels right and 2 to 300 round of ammunition. Take some training that includes firing at least 100 rounds.
Then I recommend buying fresh ammunition every year and “disposing” of the old at the shooting range over a period of a few weeks, or maybe by taking another class, or preferably both.

    9. Good thinking, Grandmom! As a soon-to-be mommy, I have also decided it’s time for me to grow up and learn to protect myself and my family. I HATE shooting! It’s just SO LOUD! But I see it as necessary training to becoming a responsible parent.

    10. @Sarah, shooting isn’t loud if you wear the correct ear protection. :-)
