Lyons Falls, NY – -(Ammoland.com)- On Tuesday, September 24, 2013, Otis Technology was awarded a three-year contract to provide gun cleaning supplies to the U.S. Army.
Otis Technology has been a defense contractor for the U.S. Government since the early 1990s and has provided a variety of gun cleaning systems and accessories since then. Most recently, Otis supplied the IWCK (Individual Weapons Cleaning Kit).
The contract recently awarded to Otis replaces the IWCK contract and addresses the need for both Individual and Team Cleaning Systems. Initial deliveries are set to take place in May 2014 and may include both the I-Mod and T-Mod Cleaning Systems.
The I-Mod Cleaning System is intended for the individual soldiers use and cleans 5.56mm weapon systems. It includes the new Ripcord™ and additional components to clean properly from Breech-to-Muzzle. It also includes a Gerber MP600 multi-tool.
The T-Mod Cleaning System is intended for a squad and contains equipment to clean 5.56mm, 7.62mm, 9mm and .45 cal weapon systems. Also included are Ripcords™ in each of the previously-mentioned sizes.
Both cleaning systems feature anti-IR reflective coating and have anti-glare blackened components. MALICE CLIPS are included so the cleaning systems can be attached to one another or anything with a MOLLE attachment.
This is an IDIQ contract, meaning Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity. For that reason, the contract amount can range anywhere from the minimum amount of $10,000 over three years to the maximum amount of $39.2 million over the three-year contract.
