Brighton, CO –-(Ammoland.com)- Rio Grande Custom Grips supports Line in the Sand protest event in San Antonio.
In Texas of all places, the San Antonio police under leadership of Chief William McManus have been giving legal open carry citizens a hard time even to the level of harassment and arrest.
Hearing of this event and especially in light of how firearm owners have been treated in their own state, Colorado based Rio Grande Custom Grips designed and donated several sets of commemorative 1911 Grips to the San Antonio organizers to use as they wished, probably a raffle.
“While we cannot afford the many dozens of requests for free product we get every week, we actually discovered the San Antonio event on our own. The fact it is for firearm freedom in Texas and in front of the revered Alamo and for the right cause, we had to get involved.”– Bryan Chambers, President, Rio Grande Custom Grips.
The event also stresses the legality (Texas and U.S. Constitution) and rights of citizens in Texas and San Antonio to carry firearms in the open.
Well over 1,000 folks from around the state, many carrying their firearms openly will meet in San Antonio in front of the Alamo, now that is cool. The date for The Line In The Sand open carry event is Saturday October 19, 2013 between 10:00AM and 2:00 PM. There will be several significant speakers.
“We really wish to thank Rio Grande Custom Grips for the sets of special commemorative grips they made for our event. This is an important event to protect our Second Amendment rights and Rio Grande Custom Grips and their kind offer of support is greatly appreciated.”–C.J. Grisham, President, Open Carry Texas.
