Indiana –-(Ammoland.com)- By now I’m pretty confident that this carnival ride we call life in America has no shut-off switch.

I read an Associated Press story today pointing out the arrangements by the FDA to take steps to remove salt and sugar from our diets like they are doing with trans fats.

It made me think back last year when I was speaking on the senate floor opposing the statewide smoking ban that in time government will eventually ban sugar, and there was a lady in the gallery sitting next to Margie who gave out a condescending snicker at my remarks.

With Big Brother taking such good care of us by banning and prohibiting things we eat and drink and what our vital signs should be, it makes me wonder why we need this spectacular health insurance monster they’ve created for us. Combined with all the safety gadgets from seat belts to mercury filled light bulbs and everything in between we’re all going to be safe and healthy all the days of our life, who’s gonna need insurance?

The past couple of days I’ve had the opportunity to participate in some Veterans Day activities. It has allowed me to meet some really neat WW II vets like the gentleman I met at the Veterans parade in Evansville yesterday. He enlisted at age 16 and served in the RAF as a tail gunner on a British Arvo Lancaster bomber. He was extremely interesting to listen to and I hope to have him attend one of our Patriot meetings next year. I’m still amazed that brave men like him could have endured all of the fighting in that brutal war without the brilliant houseflies we have among us today to guard and protect us from our food and drink, cigarettes, large flush tanks on our toilets, vent less gas cans (that you can’t pour from}, incandescent light bulbs and every other critical aspect of living. I guess those guys were just lucky.

Some may extract from this letter that I don’t appreciate the tireless and annoying assault of so many busybodies imposing themselves into my world explaining why the name of God or the sight of a crucifix is offensive, firearms should be banned, redefining marriage and that the real heroes are not the brave men and women who marched away from home at a young age to serve, but instead it is the self appointed interlopers who are the first responders to stop some school kids from singing Christmas songs in school. If by some chance it appears that I’m not grateful for their endeavors, you’re right.

There is only ONE acceptable reply to this soliloquy , AMEN !!!

Unfortunately I think the older generation (WWII) and then baby boomers need to take a lot of the blame for what is happening now. THEY raised a generation of kids who would grow up to be self absorbed busy bodies with no Moral compass and a level of narcissism and arrogance not seen in past generations.

Going down faster than I dreamed it could. I suppose I am lucky. I lived in one of the greatest periods in American history as far as all of the things that have come to be in my lifetime. It’s a shame that kids being born today will NOT see the same great things that I have. No jobs, no country, no choices, just the debt that out fine POTUS is leaving them with. does anyone really think that the USA heck even the world will be here in 30 years? Glad that I should about have lived out my… Read more »

Very well said.
THEY banned alcohol and we know how well that worked out.
Major wars were fought over items like sugar, salt, and pepper to name a few, but now they are no good for us.

Freedom is and always will be worth the fight.

The beginning and ending of freedom is two words liberal democrat.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s depressing that are government has grown to this level and even more depressing that it will continue to do so.

You should check out some of John Stossel’s stuff. He did an interview with the governor of New York awhile back because he wanted to ban salt and large soda cups in restaraunts.
