Arizona – -(Ammoland.com)- In what might appear to be a counter-intuitive move, Wilson Arms plans to move its barrel production facility from Wisconsin to Connecticut.

But, the company already has operations in Connecticut, and this move will consolidate operations.

The company owner, Hugo Vivero, purchased the company from the Wilson family six years ago.  Wilson Arms  was founded in New Haven, Connecticut in 1954, when firearms regulation and legislation were much more sane and reasonable.

The acquisition of the former Badger Defense Company, located in Wisconsin, occurred in 2012, so what is happening is that a Connecticut based company purchased a Wisconsin based company and is moving the machinery to Connecticut, where its main base of operations has existed for nearly six decades.

Because Wilson Arms deals in gun barrels rather than complete firearms or receivers, they are not subject to many of the worst of the emotionaly based firearms regulations and laws passed in the last few months.

Oh stop it, you are all still buying magpul….They made such a show about leaving Colorado, but as soon as the smoke cleared, they cut a tax break deal and stayed.

james

Perhaps they can escape the state of CT in the future.

Just goes to show when it comes down to money or principles….money wins for those with lesser principles. Thanks for the heads up so I can support companies that truly support the 2A.

I hope this decision will not be regretted. While consolidation of resources makes perfect sense, the laws of the State of Connecticut do not, and the political atmosphere surrounding firearms and component manufacturing is, in my opinion, unstable.

One more manufacturer on my list I will not support or buy from. If a gun has a Wilson Arms Barrel on it , I will not buy that gun. Wilson Arms has the right to stay in or move to an anti-gun state if they wish to do so. And I have the duty to not support such a company that does so. It’s just that simple. We as gun owners have a duty to not support any manufacturer who stays in any anti-gun state.

There are other barrel manufactures. I’ll just buy their products. Someone needs to start a list of firearm and accessory manufacturers located in HOSTILE states. Customers with information have choices.

Are you kidding me??? Wilson why? When all the manufacture of anything Gun should only built in states that are more in tune with the 2nd Amendment..I hope people start writing to them I will. Go to Texas!
