Manasquan, NJ --(Ammoland.com)- As NRA magazines containing ballots for the 2014 NRA Board of Directors Election begin arriving in people’s mail boxes AmmoLand Shooting Sports News has begun to publish letters of support requests from this years current ballot candidates. (NRA members, if you got a ballot, you’re eligible to vote if you didn’t you aren’t and need to upgrade your membership).
The following is a statement from Chief J. William “Bill” Carter (Ret) of Danville, KY who is running for re-election. Please take some time to read his biography and add his name for consideration as one of this years ballot choices.
Chief J. William “Bill” Carter (Ret)
I am a current member of the National Rifle Association Board of Directors nominated by the NRA Nominating Committee, and endorsed by the Texas State Rifle Association and Fifty Caliber Shooters Association for re-election to the NRA Board. As a Leader of delegation lobbying Congress, I have experience in appearances before Congressional Subcommittees. As an active defender of the Second Amendment I am aggressively involved in successful pro-gun legislation at both the Federal and State level.
I am a thirty-year veteran of the United States Border Patrol, Chief Patrol Agent (RET) and NRA Benefactor member. Author, public speaker supporting gun owners rights and havebeen heard on NRANews Radio.
With in the NRA I am Chairman, Smallbore Rifle Committee. Chairman, Adaptive Shooting Sports Committee (seeing that those with disabilities have every opportunity to participate in the shooting sport) and member of the NRA Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Law Enforcement Assistance Committee, Competition Rules & Programs Committee. Jeanne E. Bray Memorial Scholarship Committee and the NRA Whittington Center Board of Trustees.
In addition I am a Match Director and Range Safety Officer. Life Member of the Texas State Rifle Association, past member of the Texas State Rifle Association Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Member Fifty Caliber Shooters Association.
In Kentucky I am active as Vice President of Boyle County, KY Fish & Game Club, a 1,300 member organization. Former Chair of Friends of NRA Committee. Distinguished Expert Junior Division Smallbore Rifle, member of the Texas A&I University ROTC Rifle Team, lifelong hunter, clay target shooter and firearms collector.
