Charlotte, NC –-(Ammoland.com)-  Recently, the 2013-2014 legislative session reconvened on Beacon Hill.

As reported last year, a series of public hearings on firearm-related proposals was conducted by the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security.

That committee received public comment on nearly 60 pieces of legislation that impact your Second Amendment rights but never took any action, thereby carrying all legislation over to this new year.

Most of the state legislation which is still pending ignores concrete solutions to improve public safety, and instead focuses on victimizing and hindering responsible gun owners and sportsmen.

Some of the most egregious gun control schemes include:

  • Gun registration
  • Mandatory liability insurance for firearm owners
  • Microstamping of ammunition
  • Gun rationing
  • Further limits on magazine capacity
  • Further restrictions on the private transfer of a firearm

Your NRA-ILA will continue to keep you updated on these proposals as well as other measures that affect you as a gun owner and sportsman.  Please continue to check your e-mail and www.NRAILA.org for further updates.
