Greensboro, NC --(Ammoland.com)- The Remington Arms Company in Rockingham County recently donated $50,000 to the Red Cross Philippine relief effort.

“The people of the Philippines have experienced a devastating tragedy,” said John Day, Vice President and General Manager of Remington Defense.

“Through this donation, we wish to express our heartfelt support of the Philippines during these difficult times and hope it helps to alleviate their suffering. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Red Cross for always being the first to respond in times of need.”

“We were all shocked and saddened by the storms impact on the Philippines and the many families whose lives were shattered by the typhoon,” said George Kollitides, CEO of Freedom Group.

“As an international company with customers all over the world, we believe it’s important to give back to the communities that we serve. Our thoughts are with the people of the Philippines as their nation strives to recover from this tragedy.”

The American Red Cross appreciates the donation, which will be turned over to the Philippine Red Cross to take care of immediate needs in the hard hit area.
