PUYALLUP, WA –  -(Ammoland.com)- Team Blade-Tech’s Nils Jonasson closed out the year as “Last Man Standing” at the 2013 Phoenix Handgunner, securing the title as Grand Champion.

The Phoenix Handgunner National Shoot-Off is held annually and this year’s event was hosted by Deer Tribe Gun Club in Arizona. The 2013 Handgunner was a memorial match in honor of Gunnie Reagan, who passed away in September 2013 and will be missed.

The Phoenix Handgunner is a unique, one-day match that randomly pairs professional and amateur shooters side-by-side in a shoot off.  The shooters are required to engage a large selection of targets, including steel, and many shaped like cactus and tombstones.

Bob Buffa, Chief Range Master for the 2013 Handgunner explained that “This event is competitive for sure, but because of the way the 8 stages of competition are set up, anyone can and does win!”

Blade-Tech was proud to have a team on hand to compete across the board in the Limited Iron Sights Division.  Following a competitive shoot off, Blade-Tech’s own Nils Jonasson was able to separate himself from the pack and took top spot in his division.  After securing the Limited Championship, Nils earned the privilege to battle for the Grand Championship.  To do so, he would have to face off in a head to head shoot out against the Open Division Champion.  It was a battle of a Race style holster with an Open gun against a Limited gun with irons sights and out of a Blade-Tech Classic OWB Holster.  When the smoke settled, Nils had taken 5 out of 7 wins to earn the 2013 Grand Champion title.

Blade-tech is proud of Team Blade-Tech’s showing at this year’s Phoenix Handgunner and congratulates Nils on his win.  As the shooting sports grow, Blade-Tech expects to be able to continue its support and do all it can to grow to competitive shooting.
