Glenwood, Ala. --(Ammoland.com)- The reigning champions of the Ammo and Attitude and The Right Stuff television shows on the Pursuit Channel will be available to greet SHOT Show attendees on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the network’s exhibition (booth #10735).
Tennille Chidester and James Whitener, a two-tour veteran of the war in Iraq, will be available from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Ammo and Attitude, which is likened to a meld of Survivor meets Apprentice at the gun range, is an outdoor television original, a six-person, women-only competition. The Right Stuff is a men’s outdoor skills competition hosted by country music artist Mark Wills. Contestants of both shows compete in disciplines ranging from shooting sports to hunting technique, from wilderness survival to trekking. At the completion of each skills segment contestants are selected for elimination based on their outdoor capabilities under hyper-pressurized conditions. Significant grand-prize packages await the ultimate finalists.
Tennille Chidester of West Jordan, Utah is a native of Boise, Idaho where her family owns and operates MGM Targets. She is a graduate of Boise State University and competes regularly in action pistol and three-gun matches. She is also an NRA pistol instructor, a concealed carry instructor for the state of Utah and a club series director for 3-Gun Nation.
“Ammo and Attitude was a great, educational experience,” said Chidester. “I learned a lot about myself and how I deal with unique and challenging situations. It was an experience I will never forget and, more importantly, the other girls on the show have become lifelong friends. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and get to know such wonderful women. I cannot possibly say enough good things about them.”
James “Jimmy” Whitener joined the Missouri Army National Guard as a high school senior year and went forth to serve his country, including two tours in Iraq. Whitener has won state, regional and national titles as a member of the MONG shooting team. When he is not competing in three gun, USPSA, IDPA and 3-D archery events, Whitener is either bowhunting big game or helping his wife raise the couple’s four boys.
“Participating in, and winning, The Right Stuff was a very humbling experience,” said Whitener. “It was an honor to be given the opportunity to participate on The Right Stuff and to help make my dreams come true.”
Filming in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the sixth season of Ammo and Attitude and the third season of The Right Stuff is scheduled to begin April 2014. Stephanie Shipman, CEO of the Shipman Agency, www.shipmanagency.com, which created both series, has produced 17 national television shows over a 32-year career.
