Guns Save Lives

Guns Save Lives

USA --(Ammoland.com)- Somewhere, everyday in the USA, 2100+ people use a gun for self defense, to stop a crime or save the lives of themselves or their family.

“We believe that the American public deserve to understand that on the average, guns save 2,191 lives and are used to thwart crimes every day,” says Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation

Most times you won’t see these tales on the news as it does not fit the main stream media’s story line of “Guns and Gun Owners are Bad“.

This is just one of those stories;

A woman was sitting in her parked car in Lafayette, La. when a man approached the vehicle, opened the door, and grabbed her purse. The woman responded by retrieving a gun and ordering the criminal to drop her property, which he did. Police captured the would-be thief, who was held on $10,000 bail. 1. A story with a semi-happy ending which I would call highly irresponsible. Why irresponsible? What would have happened if the woman had shot and hit the perp? Certainly the world would likely be a better place with the perp in the ground. It might not be a better place if the woman had killed the perp because she would likely then be charged with murder. I think a responsible report of this incident should include pointing out that property theft is not a valid reason to open fire, as much as the world would benefit. The lawyers would also benefit from a jury trial followed by a civil suit. And the woman, even if she were to escape both with her life still in tact, would most likely have to live in the poor house. That’s why they call it criminal justice instead of victim justice.
