Wilsonville, OR – -(Ammoland.com)- Gun buyers seeking Remington’s new R51 pistol on gun store shelves should consider continuing their search until they also locate Crimson Trace’s product for that pistol—the new Laserguard LG-494.

In some cases, however, consumers should pause to take a closer look when they find the prominent Remington pistol—it could already have a Crimson Trace Laserguard laser sight pre-installed.

The innovative Laserguard LG-494 — with a red laser diode —  is the result of behind-the-doors details shared during the handgun’s development stage. Once Remington engineers decided on the frame and trigger guard dimensions, those details —and sample products— soon arrived in the hands of Crimson Trace’s engineers. In catch-up mode to meet the pistol’s pending consumer launch date, Crimson Trace engineers fast tracked the product development. In approximately five months, the laser sight product was ready for release.

“No one else in the industry can react as fast as Crimson Trace to develop a new product,” said Dan Hughes, Lead Project Engineer. “The LG-494 is a great example of the fast turn-around time from request to finished product. The fact that Remington will offer the LG-494 as a pre-installed factory upgrade further confirms that this is a quality and durable product.”

Before a product such as the LG-494 is released to Remington and consumers, however, it must also pass Crimson Trace’s legendary test program. In this case, Laserguard LG-494s were attached to R51s and the test shooting began. More than 2,000 rounds passed through the pistols in the company’s test range and the LG-494s passed the installation, recoil, and durability tests.

Gun buyers will soon discover this laser sight in gun shops either pre-installed on the Remington R51pistol—or as an add-on accessory separately for sale. The LG-494 laser sight is also available in Crimson Trace’s online store at www.crimsontrace.com.
