HARTFORD, CONN. –-(Ammoland.com)- The “17th annual Northeast Fishing & Hunting Show” presented by STIHL Solutions will take place on Friday, February 14 through Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Connecticut Convention Center at 100 Columbus Blvd. in Hartford, Conn. Show hours: Friday, February 14 from 12 noon to 8 p.m.; Saturday, February 15 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, February 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Northeast Fishing & Hunting Show features hundreds of booths showcasing the latest products for fishing and hunting enthusiasts and is designed as a great outing for the entire family, explains show organizer Kristie Gonsalves, President of North East Expos. “More than 50 hours of seminars by national and regional expert fishermen and hunters, demonstrations at a casting pond and fly-tying center, and hands-on activities all are included with admission.”

“Attendees will discover the newest fishing, hunting and outdoor equipment by some of the nation’s top manufacturers and can purchase a variety of products,” adds Gonsalves. “They can meet charter boat captains, check out the newest models of fishing boats, watch fly casting and fly tying demonstrations, and enjoy lots of interactive activities.”

New this year will be free expert appraisals of vintage outdoor collectibles, such as antique fishing tackle, decoys, firearms, knifes, artwork and other sporting treasures on Friday and Saturday. The most interesting items will be recorded and shared with viewers of Treasures and Traditions TV, a new show to debut on The Discovery Network’s Destination America channel. Activities and Displays will include: ocean fishing skill testing on a Virtual Realty Fishing Simulator; live fishing at a Catch & Release Trout Pond – catch a tagged fish and win a child’s rod and reel; Talons! Birds of Prey live animals; NRA Laser Shooting Range; Sportsmen’s Outpost’s archery range; Kids’ Bass Casting Competition sponsored by the Connecticut Bass Federation Booth.

The popular “Elements of Nature” Art Show will return with a wide array of artists and unique pieces in wood, antler, stone, clay, bronze, photography and taxidermy – all with a Nature theme. Meet the artists and watch demonstrations.

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection will provide the latest rules and regulations dealing with wildlife, fisheries, hunting and fishing for the upcoming season.
