Celebrities and giveaways abound at celebration of outdoor retailer’s new-look store.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Spring is all about new beginnings, and Gander Mountain is into the spirit of the season, celebrating a fresh new look for outdoors enthusiasts in Illinois this weekend with the grand opening of its newly-remodeled Peoria store.

“It’s exciting to bring our great selection of merchandise, a sharp new look and improved shopping experience to so many of our Gander Mountain stores,” said David Pratt, Gander Mountain’s CEO.

The Peoria Gander Mountain store is located at 5114 W Holiday Drive in Peoria, near the junction of Highway 6 and War Memorial Drive. The three-day Grand Opening weekend is March 21-23.

Special events and giveaways include:

  • Travis “T-Bone” Turner, host of Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector on the Outdoor Channel will appear Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Kyle Wieter, host of Adrenaline Junkies TV Show on the Sportsman Channel will appear Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Randy Birdsong and Nate Hosie, hosts of Headhunters TV Show on the Outdoor Channel will appear Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • There will be a Daisy Inflatable Shooting Range on-site both Saturday and Sunday.
  • The first 100 customers through the door at the Peoria location on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive a free $10 Gander Mountain gift card.
  • The first 250 customers to make a purchase at the Peoria location on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will receive a free Gander Mountain gift.
  • Customers can register for a chance to win a $1,000 Gander Mountain gift card at the Peoria location.
