Washington DC - -(  As Michael Bloomberg comes out swinging, pledging $50 million to beat the NRA in November and promising to use various anti-gun organizations to help him do it, it is important to remember that he took a similar approach to the 2013 Colorado recalls–and got spanked.

Following his usual pattern, Bloomberg dumped money into Colorado in support of the two gun control Democrats facing recall–state Senators John Morse (D-Colo. Springs) and Angela Giron (D-Pueblo).

Breitbart News showed that Bloomberg, aided by like-minded contributors and fellow out-of-state gun control supporters, gave the lion’s share of money to bolster senators facing recall–and that they clearly outspent what the NRA contributed in the recall fight. Nonetheless, Bloomberg lost.

The out-of-state gun control money was seen as so detrimental to gun control proponents that Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper (D) asked Bloomberg and other out-of-state gun control supporters to stay out of the next recall, which revolved around state Senator Evie Hudak (D-Dist. 19).

Slate magazine described it as “The Bloomberg Blowback,” saying his habit of dumping money into various states to get his personal agenda implemented gave conservatives an easy win by allowing them to claim that gun control senators and/or candidates were bought and paid for by Bloomberg and were, therefore, not really in tune with the citizens of the state.

Bloomberg intends to push his agenda this time with the assistance of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and a new astro-turf organization Everytown for Gun Safety.

    1. To borrow a phrase from the British, Bloomberg and his anti-gun cabal are “Tilting at Windmills”. LOL

Bloomturd might defeat the NRA, but how is he going to defeat the Constitution????????

@ John Carr: He’ll defeat the Constitution the same way he always has, by lying his ass off.
Most voters don’t know what the Constitution says, or means, so it’s easy to convince people it means what he says it means.

    4. “Getting spanked” is exactly what should have happened more often to him as a child. Maybe he would have learned respect for others.
