A new firearms online news portal for consumers and industry

USA –-(Ammoland.com)-  GunPro.net, a resource website for firearms journalists begun in 2001 by Bob Rogers, former Editor of the trade industry magazine Shooting Sports Retailer, has been coupled with a new firearms online news portal for consumers and industry, alike, and renamed GunProPlus.  The heavily gun news-skewed site will arrive in email inboxes across the country today via email marketer Constant Contact.

While gunpro.net continues to carry daily updated gun headline stories, the addition of hard news focused on self-protection, home defense, hunting and recreational shooting expands the scope of additional firearms coverage – generating the ‘Plus’ in gunpro.net.   GunProPlus will include new firearms products and accessories sections, many with demonstration videos, feature articles, opinions, departments on self-protection and defense against home invasions.   In addition, GunProPlus will feature interesting firearms industry news and timely interviews with firearms professionals.  A robust e-commerce store offers consumers the opportunity to purchase unique items not normally seen in brick and mortar stores.  GunProPlus will keep you entertained and coming back for more with sections that are devoted to guns and hunting humor.

This new turbo-charged, all-encompassing digital news magazine will stay on top of breaking headline alerts of hunting and shooting opportunities through their coverage of legal and legislative issues about guns, ammunition and their related uses.

Rogers, a firearms industry veteran who served as the Editor of Shooting Sports Retailer for 20 years, brings his industry experience and wisdom to the digital arena.   Rogers’ specialized reporting and marketing skills date back to 1962 where he started as a stringer for the Los Angeles Times outdoor section, followed by several years as Conservation Editor for the weekly newspaper Western Outdoor News and its companion regional monthly Western Outdoors magazine, for which he established the first hard news section in any outdoor publication, Dateline West.  Rogers also served as Marketing Director and National Advertising Director for those California-based publications and as Publisher/Editor for trade show daily newspapers in the fishing, boating and equestrian industries.

A highly specialized GunProPlus newsletter is scheduled for a summer 2014 release.  The newsletter will contain editorial material that goes above and beyond reporting with features and analysis of firearms industry issues seldom seen in current outdoor publications.  Readers of the GunProPlus website can subscribe to the free newsletter as well as view the enormous archives of the site at www.gunproplus.com.
