Anthony, a self-proclaimed newbie, takes the listener through his first experiences to building an AR-15 from the ground up.
DeKalb, Illinois – (Ammoland.com) – Anthony Hardy flies solo this week in his first time as primary host of the AR-15 Podcast. This week’s show is a great start for the builders and shooters out there who are just getting started with the AR platform. Anthony, a self-proclaimed newbie, takes the listener from his first experiences to building knowledge from the ground up.
The first thing Anthony discusses is the entry point. What are some of the ways that people are exposed to the platform? How a shooter first discovers the AR, often has an effect on the knowledge that shooter will be immediately exposed to as a beginner.
Once a shooter delves into the AR world, he/she will discover that training for safety, marksmanship, and weapon manipulation are equally, if not more important than the actual rifle. Where to go? Who to train with? Most learn from friends or teach themselves. But there’s plenty to say for professional training. Anthony shares his some insights into the differences between learning on his own and friends, and then learning from a qualified instructor.
So a shooter has a rifle and some basic training. How does one advance as a shooter and rifle builder? Some great locations are trade publications, and youtube. Particularly, he cautions against taking forums at face value and why. Anyone can listen to this episode at www.ar15podcast.com/073/
