New Braunfels, TX -(Ammoland.com)— On this week’s episode of Deer & Wildlife Stories television program, award-winning outdoor television producer and big game hunter Keith Warren airs a special show that highlights the all-new whitetail deer research program at Texas Tech University.
The potential positive impact of this new research could help combat deadly diseases which are having devastating effects on deer herds across the country.
The show airs this week on the Pursuit Channel, and is available online 24/7 at HighRoadHunting.
Thanks to funding spearheaded by the Deer Breeders Corporation, researchers at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University are studying the transmission of insect-borne disease in whitetail deer, such as epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD). EHD is an acute, infectious, often fatal disease with an ability to cause large scale outbreaks in wild and farm-raised deer populations.
“Thousands of deer die every year from insect-borne diseases, such as EHD. In fact, EHD has devastated more herds and killed more deer in this country than any other known disease,” says Keith Warren, host of Deer & Wildlife Stories. “Because whitetail deer are so popular among sportsmen across the country, this is important research and I hope everyone tunes in to see how science is working to improve the habitat and health of this great natural resource.”
Keith Warren’s Deer & Wildlife Stories airs four times a week on Sundays at 5 pm; Tuesdays at 1:30 pm; Wednesdays at 6:30 pm; and Thursdays at 4 pm. Warren’s other program, The High Road with Keith Warren, airs four four times per week on Sundays at 7:30 pm; Mondays at 2 pm; Wednesdays at 11 pm; and Thursdays at 6 pm.
Both shows run on the Pursuit Channel (DirecTV 604 and Dish 240), and all times are CST. Full episodes of both shows are also viewable free of charge online.
