National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers

USA --( The National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) Board of Directors, recently took several actions in support of industry organizations and causes including the approval of three donations on behalf of our member firms.

A $25,000 donation has been made to the US Olympic Shooting Team, a $30,000 donation to NSSF’s Project ChildSafe education program and a $50,000 donation to the NRA-ILA (Institute for Legislative Action).

“Our Board carefully reviews and considers what would be in the best interest of our members and how to further industry initiatives for all of our members,” said Kent Williams, NASGW Chairman of the Board. “It’s an important task and one that we take very seriously.”

“We make every effort to align these causes and their respective organizations to reflect the Association’s values while also working with these groups to make a meaningful impact on the future success of the industry and a genuine commitment to the community that we serve,” said Maurice (Moe) Desmarais, NASGW President.

The US Olympic Shooting Team prepares American athletes to win Olympic and Paralympic medals, promote the shooting sports throughout the U.S., and govern the conduct of international shooting in the country.

NSSF’s Project ChildSafe Project is a nationwide program that promotes safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearm owners through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm Safety Kits.

The NRA’s Institute of Legislative Action (ILA) is the arm of the NRA that is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Institute is also involved in educating the public about the facts concerning the many facets of firearms ownership in America.

The Association is working with these organizations and others to strengthen and support each of the respective missions.

“We’ll have more on this topic in the near future.” said Williams.

NASGW is composed of leading wholesalers, manufacturers, and independent sales reps, media and service providers – both national and international – all of whom are primarily involved with hunting and shooting sports equipment and accessories industry. For more information, visit
