Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)-  Remington Arms is moving production of its Bushmaster AR-15 rifles from New York to Alabama.

Governor Andrew Cuomo’s (D) SAFE Act made the rifles illegal “to sell in New York without modification,” and it appears Remington has chosen not to continue manufacturing a gun in a state where the sale of that gun is not allowed.

On February 17, Breitbart News reported that Remington had acquired a 500,000 square foot facility in Huntsville, Alabama. At that time, Remington CEO George Kollitides pointed to Alabama’s state motto–“We Dare Defend Our Rights”–as something that summed up Remington’s reason for expanding there.

On May 16, The Buffalo News reported that the new building will be used for Remington’s Bushmaster line of rifles, as well as their 1911 R1 pistols.

Remington’s Teddy Novin did not mention the SAFE Act by name when he announced the shift to Alabama.

He simply said, “This was a strategic business decision to concentrate our resources into fewer locations and improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.”

He also said Remington is “working hard to retain as many people from the affected facilities as possible.”

These are salt of the earth people are are about as far away from N.Y. city as you can get, but they hold so many votes that what we want in upstate is always over ridden I remember opening day most of the guys wernt at class for a week Yep the people in upstate are F####ed as always

I really like seeing all these firearm related businesses the entire industry relocating to Texas and the Southern states. That is about as good as it gets.

Good for Remington! Eventually, all such manufacturing capacity will leave occupied states for free states where they can conduct commerce unimpeded by overreaching government control. You will never hear Andy Cuomo address the resulting unemployed. In fact, even they become easier to control.

The overall results of the past Decade……shows a complete lacking of respect for the gun Industries…….AND these companies have helped save Thousands of lives! Militarily or well as Civilians…….$$$$$$$$$ money can’t buy security for your families, but a gun can be Useful when the “”Bad situations”” Arise?
Being your family to church & remember how this country was Founded…………..
A gun or Musket (((( or Militia carrying the hopes & dreams? ))))
God bless America & freedom for all!
