South Dakota --(Ammoland.com)- The governor of Kansas takes host Scott Linden to school … on history, agribusiness, botany and bird hunting in the Sunflower State on the debut episode of Wingshooting USA’s sixth television season, Monday, June 30 2014.
Gov. Sam Brownback uses an heirloom Winchester Model 42 shotgun to good advantage at Topeka’s Ravenwood Lodge.
Brownback’s grandfather took the venerable pump-action gun in trade for an unpaid grocery bill at his general store generations ago. Based on the governor’s performance in the field, it still shoots straight despite worn bluing and a cracked stock that surely have their own stories to tell.
The governor and Linden follow pointers into the CRP, crops and woods surrounding Ravenwood’s historic Mission Creek Lodge. Lodge owner Ken Corbet’s family homesteaded the site in the Civil War era.
The new Wingshooting USA season airs on seven television networks including Discovery’s Destination America and Pursuit Channel.
The most watched bird hunting show in the U.S., it is the official TV series of the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Additional sponsors include Paw Print Genetics, Cabela’s, Happy Jack Inc., Filson, Kansas Dept. of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism, Camp Chef, TruckVault, Fiocchi ammunition, South Dakota Tourism, EverGreen RV Manufacturing, and Ugly Dog Hunting Co. The show’s conservation partner is Quail Forever. More information: www.scottlindenoutdoors.com.
