Washington, DC –-(Ammoland.com)- The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is committed to ensuring public safety by working directly, and through partnerships, to assist licensees in complying with the Federal firearms laws and regulations.
Federal Firearms Licensees should refer to ATF Publication 3317.7 in preparation for potential disasters, such as hurricanes, floods and tornado’s.
The National Weather Service has forecasted that tropical storm Arthur will continue to strengthen and become a hurricane as it takes a northerly, then northeasterly path along the Atlantic coast of the United States.
Federal Firearms Licensee’s should establish a disaster preparedness plan, to safeguard your business by protecting firearms, ammunition and required records.
If necessary, take precautionary steps by contacting your local ATF field office regarding the removal of firearms and ammunition inventory, as well as ATF Forms 4473, 3310.4 and acquisition & disposition records from the business premises to a safe location.

I’ll bet a month’s pay that no FFL would get a pass if they claimed water damage from a hurricane damaged the hard drive and they “lost” their recent 4473 forms.
How about all government agencies follow their own advice and safe guard their own records and correspondence from potential disasters.
I really like the part about the ATF offering to remove your inventory for you to a safe location for safekeeping ! They will even take your 4473’s and all other customer records ! Yeah,fu*king right !
