Washington, DC –-(Ammoland.com)- The information below on NFA processing times has been updated and will soon be available on www.ATF.gov.

ATF has taken significant steps to reduce the number of pending NFA applications.

As a result, the number of pending NFA applications has been reduced by 25%. Consequently, the processing times of certain NFA applications has also been reduced by as much as 30 days.

ATF will continue to take aggressive steps to reduce the number of pending applications and processing times.

The ATF should no be congratulated for the mess that remains with NFA Form processing. I have a Form 4 that was submitted Dec 3, 2013 and I am told I can still expect to wait several more months. The Tax Stamp check was cashed within days of submission. I added a second Form 4 item about four months ago. My FFL suggested I wait for the E-Forms system for faster return. After waiting two months for the system to be up after crashing regularly we gave up and submitted paper again. Again the Tax Stamp check was cashed within… Read more »
