Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Stafford County Virginia Sheriff’s Department is not allowing Virginia Citizens Defense League ( VCDL ) to have a booth at Tuesday’s National Night Out event UNLESS we agree not to open carry!

The other condition for the booth was that we only distribute information from the assigned booth.

While the second condition would have been acceptable, Virginia Citizens Defense League will NOT accept infringements on ANY legal means of carry and the Sheriff’s Department was told so.

Since we are not getting a booth, we can walk around and distribute VCDL information and carry as we please.

If you want to stand up for your rights, we are looking for members and supporters to pass out “Guns Save Lives” stickers and Virginia Citizens Defense League materials (carry cards and brochures).

Stafford National Night Out is held in front of the Target In the Stafford Marketplace Shopping Center on Garrisonville Road (610). It is THIS Tuesday, August 5th 2014, from 6 to 9 PM.

If you can help out, please send an email to [email protected]. Please include your cell phone number to help with coordination at the event.

We are also looking to have some attorneys on site to observe the event. If you are an attorney who can be there, please let me know by emailing me at [email protected].

I will be there, along with Board members Bruce Jackson and Dennis O’Connor.

VCDL: This would be a PRIME OPPORTUNITY to start lobbying against the county sheriff. Just who does this joker think he is? THE LAW IS THE LAW; if, as a law enforcement officer, he can’t figure this out, he needs to be GONE!

Eric

No open carry so concealed carry is ok . No real difference it would still be the same law abiding citizen . Are people really that stupid that law abiding citizens need to hide their firearms in public? Come to Alaska we don’t care open or concealed carry with no permit required. Stop allowing your scared Sheriffs dictating firearm policy in violation of the Second Amendment.
Then to add insult , restrict First Amendment activities to the booth only.
