Washington DC - -(Ammoland.com)-  On August 23 2014, an 89-year-old World War II veteran grabbed an armed robber’s gun, then pulled out his own gun and wrestled with the suspect before shooting him six times.

The veteran, Arthur M. Lewis, was working at his Lake Park, Florida, jewelry store around 3 p.m when Lennard Patrick Jervis allegedly entered the store with a revolver.

The Palm Beach Post reports that Lewis “immediately grabbed the suspect’s revolver and pulled out a .38 caliber handgun from his own pocket.” The men then “wrestled for several minutes and fired shots at each other” from close range.

The WWII veteran’s “left arm was grazed by a bullet,” but he received no other injuries. Jervis “was shot six times … including four times in the chest.”

Jervis stumbled to the front door and asked Lewis to buzz him out, which Lewis did. The suspect then climbed into an SUV that was waiting for him outside. The driver, Raven Simone Hill, was afraid Jervis wouldn’t live long enough to make it to a hospital in Miami, so “she stopped and asked for assistance from the Boca Raton Police Department.”

Afterwards, “Jervis was taken to Delray Medical Center and is expected to survive.” He will be arrested once he is discharged and “is expected to face charges of armed robbery to a business, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and armed burglary.”

Hill was charged with “armed robbery for driving the getaway car.”

    1. Another poor innocent ‘young black man’ gets shot robbing a store ? Shocking aint it ? An 89 yo white man defending his life ! Sweet ! I love happy endings !

    2. What is the world coming to when a bad guy can survive four .38s to the chest? It’s not like the older guy didn’t do his part. He has my respect.

    3. what a great job by this retired vet, but someone needs to donate some “p” load hollow points to this mans cause.

    4. Good for the VET it shows what real men are made of, bet the bad guy never goes back to that store. These thugs are getting just too uppity anymore, more of them need to get put in the ground.

    5. Yes! Try them, sentence them to a short term, feed and water them and turn them loose early, and send us the bill. Genius!

    6. If only he had one-more round. This POS would have died! Now, Tax payers have to pay for these two upstanding citizens to live like kings in prison.
