Wixom, MI –-(Ammoland.com)-  Staff Sergeant (SSG) Daniel Horner, of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, secured top honors at the 2014 Trijicon World Shooting Championship, awarding him the $50,000 grand prize and title of  “Undisputed World Shooting Champion.”

Lena Miculek secured the High Lady Shooter Champion position, while Bryan Nelson earned High Junior Champion and finished fourth overall.

This past weekend, 159 male and female competitive shooters from around the world journeyed to the Peacemaker National Training Center to participate in twelve different shooting events over four grueling days of competition. Matches uniquely combined pistol, rifle, shotgun and combined shooting sections, challenging even the most experienced firearms competitors.

Out of the twelve measured shooting stages, SSG Horner placed in the top 10 in all but two sections; solidifying himself as the frontrunner in the inaugural event. Bruce Piatt, winner of multiple Bianchi Cup titles, and perennial sharpshooter Jerry Miculek, finished second and third respectively. Greg Jordan (5th) Patrick Kelley (6th), Mark Hanish (7th), Jake Denno (8th), Gabe Dietrich (9th) and Ryan Muller (10th) rounded out the top 10.

The NRA’s Competitive Shooting Division assisted with rules and scoring of the match with the assistance of the Peacemaker National Training Center match staff.
