Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- President and founder of the Virginia Gun Owners Coalition (VGOC), Mike McHugh, has decided to shut down the organization so he can spend more time on his family.

Mike has his priorities right and is doing the right thing for his family and his marriage and we all wish him godspeed.

In case any of you are concerned that Virginia Citizens Defense League could close its doors similarly, Virginia Citizens Defense League is in a very different position than Virginia Gun Owners Coalition because of how we are organized.

Virginia Gun Owners Coalition, leadership-wise, was a one-man show.

Virginia Citizens Defense League has a seven-member Board of Directors and over 60 Executive members.

If I were to get hit by a bus (what was that mom said about looking both ways before crossing a street, again?), Virginia Citizens Defense League and its mission would carry on.

Matt, Instead of being sarcastic why don’t you take over instead of wishing someone else “good luck” ? His comment seemed to me to be relevant to a wish for the org. to continue, not just “boom” end of org. because he wanted out. Perhaps Mike wasn’t the needed person to make the org. successful so instead of calling out Mick let’s see what kind of skills. You can count me in if you can make it go. You have my e-mail add. Consider it!

As someone who once knew Mike well, I pray for Mick to attempt filling Mike’s shoes for a few short decades. Then we will see how well Mick does at fighting the good fight that Mike so persistently attempted. Did Mike have flaws? Sure. Larger than life, because he was so.
So Good luck hero Mick, because you are going to need it to shuffle in Mike’s socks. So get started and don’t quit, Mick.

This is why you need to know who your supporting. If he cared he would transfer ownership or partner with another group to keep the fight going where he could step back and let others run with the ball and give him the time he wants and then play a supporting role and leave the day to day work to others…… QUITER…
