Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- We have only seen a smidgen of the fallout from the 2014 General Election.

The true effect of this election will not be seen for some time. The real outcome will be determined by how strong the will is of gun owners in Illinois and the United States.

We must not only be strong, we must be organized and very long lasting. Remember we must not underestimate the will and deep pockets of the anti-gun forces.

Time magazine recently carried an article discussing the redirection of the anti-gunners from the national to the state and local level. The likes of George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, and a few assorted millionaires and billionaires have 100,000 times more money than the NRA, ISRA, NSSF, and all the state and local level pro-gun organizations combined.

These anti-gun groups can now afford full time professional management. These people are formidable enemies.

On November 19, 2014, the first Illinois veto session will begin and we will be there. The second veto session starts on December 2, 2014, and we are only a few weeks away from Lame Duck and the Spring Illinois General Assembly session. We all need to be ready.

On November 8, 2014, the ISRA held its first Illinois Black Powder State Championship.

The 26 competitors fired muskets, rifles, caplocks, flintlocks, and even inline muzzleloaders. It was a great time. Look for the ISRA to increasingly support black powder shooting activities.

As you may have noticed, we are working on color coding the Official ISRA Calendar. Our goal is to make it easier to distinguish the ISRA range, ISRA, and non-ISRA events. We have been diligently working on the 2015 schedule; we have added several new classes to choose from.

Remember – Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day (IGOLD) is taking place on March 18, 2015. Please make plans to attend!

Thanks for being a member.
