Virginia Freelance-Star’s Offensive Cartoon

Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- The cartoonist at the Freelance-Star is certainly entitled to his opinion.

The trouble is that his cartoon shows what is purported to be a Virginia Citizens Defense League member committing a crime by pointing a gun recklessly at someone who is turning in a gun at the Fredericksburg Buy-Up, saying: “Pick up the gun or I’ll shoot!”

The same message could easily have been conveyed with out implying we are criminals or are reckless.

Of course, if I was drawing the cartoon it would show a City official telling the Virginia Citizens Defense League member, “Laws? We don’t obey no stinkin’ state laws!”

Here’s the cartoon:

It is necessary to demonize the “bitter clingers” before more progreSSive activities are employed. Tyranny never deviates from the manual, just the actors change.

This cartoon just doesn’t make sense to me. Of course, most of what is in the leftest media make little sense to me. I guess I must be an obtuse old fart.

The late Tony Auth was a cartoonist who targeted pro-gun people and Conservatives in his cartoons. Evidently this guy is trying to fill Auth’s shoes?
