Salt Lake City, UT -(Ammoland.com)- Mule Deer Foundation President, Miles Moretti, and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife CEO, Jon Larson, officially opened the 2015 Western Hunting and Conservation Expo (WHCE) to a crowd of over 250 Salt Lake City area youth along with other attendees.

The students are touring the Expo hall to learn about hunting and the conservation of the nation’s great fish and wildlife resources. The WHCE will be held through Sunday at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah; the Expo Hall is open from 10 am to 7 pm Thursday through Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday February 22.

“Throughout this hall you will see amazing taxidermy and learn more about what our organizations and so many other conservation groups and management agencies do for wildlife,” Larson told the students. “We hope that your time on the Expo floor is an educational one, and we also hope that perhaps it will spark an interest in hunting and the shooting sports.”

This year’s WHCE is sponsored by Ammo & More and ACI along with hosts the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) and Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife (SFW). The next four days will be extremely busy with seminars, auctions, evening entertainment and youth events. Registration for the evening events is at an all-time high this year, which is good news for both organizations’ conservation missions.

“We’ve been prepping for months to host the best show we’ve ever had,” said Moretti. “Now that we’re off and running, we will see that hard work pay off for an outstanding event. We’ve got more exhibits, anticipate more people coming through the doors, will sell some incredible auction items, and much more. I know that this will be a great few days.”

The auctions during the 2015 WHCE have some of the most coveted big game tags available for mule deer, bighorn sheep, elk, moose and several other North American big game animals. In addition, attendees can apply for the chance to draw for 200 big game tags courtesy of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. This year, there will also be an opportunity for people who are unable to attend the event to bid for auction items online.

Register for the Expo and find the full schedule of events and details of auctions, tags, seminars and more is available at www.huntexpo.com.
