Boulder, CO -(Ammoland.com)- By the time you read this, the brouhaha ignited by the fantastic, unexpected success of the movie American Sniper will have undoubtedly subsided, the chattering classes having moved on to more important things like under-inflated footballs .
The left-wing, Hollywood elitists babbling out of tinsel town, such as fat boy Michael Moore, witless Seth Rogan (who?), Howard Dean and other bozos may have done us a favor, as they have shown a large segment of the American populace, who have seen the blockbuster, how ignorant and prejudiced they actually are.
An interesting perspective about the motivation of snipers is summed up succinctly by the Ranger Master Sniper who was on the SOF cover last month, Nicholas Irving, who said, “I’d rather shoot a guy than present a flag to another mom”.
Another interesting perspective is from one of my favorite gun rights journos, Dave Workman…[email protected], who noted:
“While American movie-goers are making American Sniper a record-breaker, critics are sniping back, taking all manner of shots at the film. One might wonder whether some of this distaste is perhaps due to a subconscious reaction to the central core of the film—the story of a man who was remarkably proficient with a rifle.”

If there is one thing I am proud of in the decades of publishing SOF, it’s the numbers of young men the magazine has inspired to join the military.
