USA – -(Ammoland.com)- Hunting, fishing and organized sports were among the many outdoor activities that encompassed Karissa Mielke’s daily life growing up in Montana.
Her affable personality and understanding of teamwork is foundational as she leads a new generation of hunters within the Women of Weatherby community.
Moving to Montana at an early age helped spark a love for wide-open spaces and hunting became a family affair. Her love for the hunt and being part of a team is the essence of Karissa’s commitment to the Women of Weatherby as she hopes to help create a more inviting atmosphere for young women.
Karissa knows that women can be just as successful as men when hunting. One area she would like to see changed is the availability of hunting gear for women.
“Women shouldn’t be treated any differently than men. We don’t need fancy colors or fashionable clothes when afield,” stated Karissa.
“All that matters is that we have gear that fits well and that includes our firearms. That’s why I’m so excited to be part of Women of Weatherby as we build our first rifle designed for women, by women”.
The Women of Weatherby team, along with Team Weatherby’s Jessie Duff, is creating a community that provides information, opportunities and products specifically for women, by women. This program offers a foundation to inspire the dreams of women at every level of hunting and shooting.
