Are you ready to take your pistol training to the next level? Well, you’re in luck! In a few short weeks, the NRA and the Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) will host the first annual Scholastic Pistol Program Pistol Camp. This unique camp for students will be held August 7 – 9, 2015 at the Illinois State Rifle Association Range at Bonfield in Kankakee, Illinois.

Participants must be at least 12 years old, however there is no upper age limit as long as you are a full-time student. The camp only has 32 slots and will feature both classroom and range training with .22 LR. Ammo and pistols will be provided, and are included in the camp fee. If you wish to use your own 9mm, you will need to bring your own ammo (650 rounds).

Normally the registration fee for a special camp like this would be $300…. But due to a special grant from the NRA Foundation, the cost is only $150!

So what are you waiting for?! Registration ends July 31st. To register, download and complete the registration and health history form today! Submit all forms to Tammy Mowry at[email protected].

In addition to the pistol camp, Level 1 Pistol Coach certification will be offered at the same time! The Coach certification is offered to adults and is a separate program from the camp. The certification is not a part of the camp curriculum. Individuals who are 15-17 years old may become a Junior Pistol Trainer while adults 18 and up are eligible for the Coach certification.

Registration fee includes a copy of the discipline-specific coach student study guide and other materials to help you with the details of coaching. Participants complete an open-book test as homework during the first evening of the course. Cost is $160 for SPP coaches/adult volunteers and $190 for non-SPP individuals. Please complete the Level 1 Pistol Coach Registration formand return it to Tammy Mowry at [email protected].
