Arvada, CO -(AmmoLand.com)- In a recent Seattle Times news report, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is now requiring commercial gun ranges seeking contracts to help train federal air marshals and other officers, to first prove the facilities are not tainted with lead.

The bids require a gun range to show that its indoor air recently has met federal safety standards and to provide results from recent lead-exposure tests or an inspection report showing compliance with federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

MT2 is leading the fight to protect Federal Air Marshals and all law enforcement officers from the hazards of lead poisoning at gun ranges. In the past year alone, MT2 has completed firing range clean-up projects for law enforcement agencies Coast-to-Coast such as NYPD, Denver, Seattle, and Richmond. Over the past decade, they have removed over 11,000,000 pounds of lead from the environment resulting in MT2 being able to successfully credit over $4,000,000.00 to range owners from lead recycling on their firing range. MT2 works closely with range owners to implement firing range Best Management Practices (BMPs) to protect shooters and the environment.

“We are proud to serve and protect those in law enforcement and the military that serve and protect us,” stated James Barthel, MT2 CEO.

MT2 is the nation’s #1 firing range maintenance & lead reclamation company and can clean ranges to unlock the value in spent lead while complying with the new TSA announcement. Upon completion of the project, MT2’s TSA Range Safety Team will provide test results to the gun range validating all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established levels for lead exposure have been met.

“We are pleased to offer a free range evaluation for indoor or outdoor ranges,” stated James Barthel, MT2 CEO.
