USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to introduce the new Ruger GP100 chambered in .22 LR.

This ten-round revolver offers an array of features designed for target shooting, small game hunting and recreational shooting.

Featuring a 5.50” half-lug barrel for improved handling and lighter weight, the Ruger GP100 in .22 LR is both durable and reliable. This new GP100 has an improved fire control system that uses a lighter mainspring than previous Ruger double-action .22 LR revolvers.

“Ruger has always been on the cutting edge of revolver technology, with the first polymer revolver, and now with a .22 LR revolver that has the same light trigger pull as our centerfire GP100 revolvers,” said Chris Killoy, Ruger President and COO.

The GP100 in .22 LR features a windage and elevation adjustable rear sight with a white outline, a light-gathering fiber optic front sight and the original full-size GP100 rubber grips with hardwood inserts for a very distinctive look. The all stainless-steel construction makes this GP100 an easy firearm to maintain and one that is certain to be handed down from one generation to the next.

We really need a 22 mag in this gun. Please let us have one soon.

John Lehner

Hey Doug, Glad you had a good day at the range with your GP100 22. I haven’t picked one up for myself yet but It’s definitely going to happen.

Doug J

Good day: Well….I finally found the time to shoot my new GP 100/22lr…!!! NIIICE….!!! Really nice trigger, both in single & double action. I did have to adjust the elevation 3 clicks up, when I started shooting, but after that, this handgun was VERY accurate ! I was shooting CCI mini-mags, 40 grain ammo, offhand, at 10 yards. My groups were about 2,inches, in the beginning of my shooting. I placed the target at 15 yards, again, offhand & the groups were about 2 1/4 inches. Had I been able to bench rest the gun, I’m quite sure my groups… Read more »

Would love one if offered with 4 inch barrel

John Lehner

Congrats Doug, let us know how it shoots, I’d be interested in knowing that. I’m sure you’ll like it, I have several Rugers and they are all great. Sounds like a decent price to. Have a good range day.

Doug J

I GOT IT….!!!
I purchased it yesterday, 2-03-16….!!!!
I paid, $714.00, including tax & paper work.
This Ruger is…well…beautiful !!! I will be taking this revolver out to shoot either sometime this weekend or this coming Tuesday….. can’t wait…!!!!
I will let you all know how this gun shoots, after my range visit.

I’m amazed but I actually found the GP 100 22lr on sale now for what I think is a great price. It can be bought at the Kentucky Gun Co. at a retail price of $631.38 or a cash price of $612.99. And at the time I saw this ad. 1/23/16 they actually had them in stock. They’re web site is KYGUNCO.COM. Check them out they may still have some in stock if your interested. They will ship to your FFL.

Doug J

I will agree with John Lehner.
Ruger has always made good, reliable revolvers & almost always less expensive than their competitor, Smith & Wesson.
With that being said; I believe the issue for a lot of people is going to be the higher than usual price tag, because….it’s a Ruger…NOT a S & W.
The retail price for the new Ruger. GP 100 22lr is $829.00 & will probably sell in the $739.00 to $775.00 range, right there, price wise, with the S & W model 617, also, there MIGHT be a “Snob factor” working against Ruger.

……Just saying……

John Lehner

I like the GP100, but I think your price is alittle high You are right up there with the model 617 Smith and Wesson, Ruger is usually somewhat less expensive than the Smith. If the price is the same many buyers will go with the Smith and Wesson name and quality. Just a thought. I now own both Ruger and S&W guns and enjoy them both. Thank you.

Again, a 22 mag switchable cylinder and I’ll buy!

Steve DeGreeff

Agree with Mr. Gibbon, make it available with 22 mag switchable cylinder and you can put me in line for purchase. Is there one on the horizon?
When will the Dealers have the new GP100 22 cal. in stock?

Jeff Ross

The front sight takes just a few seconds to pop out and replace, great feature. Love the GP!

Tom Brewer (SC)

I just got my GP100 22LR and cannot wait to shoot it. My question is how do you pop out the front sight for replacement? The 22LR model does not have the pin in the front of the barrel like other GP100 models.

Bill McGibbon

Make it available with 22 mag switchable cylinder and you’ll really have a desirable firearm.

Anthony Massimilla

Of course some one would ask , is there a .22 WMR cylinder ?

JOHN MORT

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A GOOD 10 ROUND REVOLVER FOR THE PAST YEAR. RUGER HAS FILLED THAT REQUIREMENT. ALTHOUGH I AM NOT IN FAVOR OF THE NEW FRONT SIGHT, RUGER HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST BUILT REVOLVER ON THE MARKET. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO PUTTING THIS REVOLVER IN MY RUGER COLLECTION.
