Chatsworth, IL -(AmmoLand.com)- For those of you who watched Obama’s “Town Hall” on CNN undoubtedly noticed a beautiful young woman, Kimberly Corban, from Colorado.

Kimberly’s family is originally from Chatsworth, Illinois. Kimberly ended up in Colorado because her father’s employer transferred him to Colorado from here. Kimberly’s aunts, uncles, cousins and one grandparent still live in Chatsworth or the surrounding area. Kimberly isn’t the only one; Ted Takasaki, renowned professional fisherman and outdoorsman, also is from Chatsworth. I used to let Ted shoot on my range when he was a teenager. It must be in the water around here. Maybe we should bottle it and send it to Washington D.C.

Edward Archer is accused of the attempted murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Jesse Hartnett. Archer previously had several gun charges and terrorism charges against him, but he was allowed to walk with no prison time. The pattern of not prosecuting gun charges or plea bargaining them away is rampant all across the country. Here in Illinois, Cook County is a prime example. Letting these people off the hook is why Officer Hartnett nearly lost his life and is likely to be disabled forever.

Several years ago in Chicago a little girl was killed by a man who had committed over a dozen gun related crimes, but was never arrested despite the fact the police knew about them. Had he been prosecuted he could have served 509 years in prison, yet he was allowed to walk the streets. Had the present laws been enforced, neither the officer nor the little girl would have been hurt or killed. When we talk about enforcing the laws, we have to think about these kinds of examples. There are tens of thousands more just like these two which are prime examples of not enforcing the firearms laws we have. We do not need any new ones.

By now you may have received your Illinois Shooter. On page 8 you will find a survey form which asks what kinds of firearm or firearm related classes you would like to take to improve your firearm knowledge and skills. Please take time to fill out the form and return it to the ISRA office. There is a comment section for other classes you might like that are not listed. The ISRA Academy has ambitious goals for 2016. There will be new classes added throughout the year.

For the first time in my memory the Illinois General Assembly did not open on the second Wednesday in January. I’m sure this has everything to do with the looming Illinois debt crisis. Here is one example of the debt crisis. The State of Illinois owes City, Water, Light and Power (CWLP) of Springfield Illinois $9,000,000 in back utility bills. CWLP only covers state owned facilities in Springfield. Think about the rest of the state- what must that be? If you or I were behind on our utility bills we would be in a cold dark house with nothing to drink. I will keep you informed on what is going on.

On Saturday night two teenage thugs tried to stick up a liquor store on West 87th Street in Chicago. Both were shot and killed by an employee. Business owners and employees are allowed to carry on the business premises and do not require a CCL, except a FOID Card. There was a “No Gun” sign on the door which these two thugs decided to ignore. This is another prime example of the value of “No Gun” signs – NONE.

Here are the latest F.O.I.D. and ICCL numbers as of December 31, 2015:

FOIDS 1,942,008
ICCLS 143,368

If someone in your family or someone you know doesn’t have a F.O.I.D. Card, encourage them to get one. I would like to see that number over 2,000,000.

Richard Pearson, the “man” who sold out Otis McDonald pontificating from ISRA world headquarters in Chatsworth IL. Most of ISRA’s army of retarded hicks don’t know that he did nothing to promote concealed carry for 20 years, and fought the IGOLD march in Springfield tooth and nail. After conning Otis McDonald into signing on to the Supreme Court lawsuit against the city of Chicago, Pearson let NRA contract lobbyist Donald Todd Vandermdye put Duty to Inform w/ criminal penalties in Rep. Brandon Phelps HB183 “NRA backed” carry bill, because the police are your friends in Chatsworth if you know the… Read more »
