CLEVELAND –  -(Ammoland.com)- By collaborating closely with PolyCase Ammunition, PolyOne Corporation has helped its innovative customer create and improve performance and manufacturing of its high-performance shooting-range compliant cartridges, using a non-lead, polymer-based formulation.

Citing its innovative design, performance and reliability, Guns & Ammo magazine recently named the PolyCase cartridge “Ammo of the Year.”

Now marketed under the Ruger ARX line of ammunition, the projectiles feature a patent-pending flute design molded from Gravi-Tech High Density Composite material. PolyOne developed a specific Gravi-Tech formulation that makes it possible to produce the unique geometry of the bullet while maintaining balance and weighting requirements to deliver higher velocity and more efficient energy transfer.

“We deeply value the unprecedented level of collaboration with PolyOne,” said Paul Lemke, founder and chief executive officer, PolyCase Ammunition.

“Its market-leading strength in providing specialized polymer-based materials has allowed us to improve our product offerings. Their additional support has strengthened the PolyCase ammunition manufacturing process while improving our time to market and market penetration.”

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., CEO Michael O. Fifer added, “We were impressed by the innovations PolyCase has developed and incorporated into the ARX bullet technology. Ruger prides itself on being an industry leader in innovation, so matching up the Ruger brand with cutting-edge PolyCase bullet technology seemed a perfect fit.”

“PolyOne’s ongoing collaboration with PolyCase leverages our technical support capabilities and formulation expertise to supplement their unique and proprietary design,” said Robert M. Patterson, president and chief executive officer, PolyOne Corporation.

“We are proud to have collaborated with them on this game-changing, revolutionary new product.”

The shooting sports industry is one characterized by loyal, dedicated consumers who value high-performance products and are passionate about their sport.

PolyOne shares their passion and dedication. Last month, PolyOne announced the creation of a dedicated team to serve customers focused on designing and manufacturing equipment and accessories in this growing industry.

Commenting on this recent investment, Mr. Patterson said, “Drawing from our full breadth of services and solutions we are uniquely positioned to help our customers introduce lighter weight, more durable and aesthetically appealing products for the outdoor enthusiast.”

Very little info on their site. Very little info in this article. I’d like to see range tests, actual targets, gelatin, etc etc.
The market for polymer bullets is waiting, once it is worked out. There will be issues with integrity both in the bore and flight. Weight-plastic is so much lighter , it is hard to get the bullet weights we are used to. Ballistics, and of course terminal ballistics. Does it expand? If not, it will have to rely on cutting …..
Should make target ammo cheaper and safer (no air born lead, etc).

This article was less than worthless. The so-called article was nothing more than a propaganda puff piece. Nothing that was written in this so called article, gave me even a modicum of understanding of what this round can do, what it can’t do, and any comparative parameters to any existing 45 ACP ammo out there. Should this be the best A.L. and can do in providing information on new products, then I’ll unsubscribe from the worthless newsletter: I don’t need propaganda pieces, that’s what advertising is for, I need information that is actually useful, so Ammoland how about you stop… Read more »

I’ve been using this new Ruger ammo for several months now. I find it prints at ab out the same spot as my 230 Gr. FMJ ball does, at ranges from 0-75 feet, even though the bullet is significantly lighter (only 118 Gr.). It is now my routine EDC ammo, and I expect it will work just fine in that capacity (luckily, I have never yet had to try shooting anyone with it!). I’m planning to try in on feral hogs later this year, when I get a chance.

Sorry, but I ONLY speak ENGLISH! Some say that’s my bad but that’s okay, I’m a retired U.S. Marine! Whatever you said???

Speak english! Were in america!

America? Well my friend, out of the36 countries in AMERICA, only a few of them (2 countries and most not all islands in the caribbean) speak English: 20 countries speak Spanish and 1 Portuguese, So, by vast majority, in America the conmonly used lenguaje is Spanish. If you wrongly refer the USA as “America” you are not only your wrong but also you being illiterate.

Wild Bill

No, no, no. We have been calling this place America long before it was the United States. The British called it “Our American Colonies”. We changed it to the United States of AMERICA. It is entirely historical and proper to call our selves America.
