FAIRFAX, Va. – -(Ammoland.com)- In a video response to President Barack Obama’s town hall on gun violence, National Rifle Association Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Wayne LaPierre invites the president to a one-on-one, one-hour debate with a mutually agreed-upon moderator. “No pre-screened questions and no gas-bag answers,” says LaPierre.
The video is the latest in a series of commentaries by the NRA leader airing on NRANews.com. LaPierre notes that seven years ago, Obama set out to fundamentally transform our country. And he says that’s exactly what happened:
“When it comes to the runaway power of the executive branch over Congress, the courts, the people and the rule of law … the president has laid waste to the America we remember.”
He goes on to say that the president has chosen to attack what he misunderstands most about America—the Second Amendment, gun owners and the NRA. Obama, LaPierre points out, even announced a federal gun force that will be four times the size of the Special Forces units he deployed against ISIS terrorists.
Americans don’t trust the president, LaPierre says, because he’s proven to be unworthy of our trust. He warns that Obama’s calculation is clear—to destroy the NRA before the election, so Hillary Clinton can destroy the Second Amendment after it.
LaPierre concludes the video with an open invitation to the president to meet for a fair debate: “It’s your chance to show the American people you’re not afraid to meet the NRA on neutral ground.”

I think its sad that the NRA feeds on the fears of us gun owners. However I think they do help keep balance between the gun haters with the most of us somewhere in the middle.
NRA HAD TO CALL OUT OBAMA ! Obama has no interest in discussing legitimate 2A issues or law-abiding firearms owners concerns. The socialists agenda has been laid and this is about to become full blown war ! 2016 will really be a bumpy ride concerning the 2A !

Orland Park Chief Tim McCarthy was president of the IL Chiefs at that time. I’m glad Mr. LaPierre called out Obama. I’m going to share this article. Maybe we can collectively bombard the White House via their online petition process. Supposedly, if an online petition gets 100k signatures, the White House will respond.
I’ve never done a White House online petition, but if someone reading this initiates said petition, that would be great. Spread the word. Let’s see what we can do to make this debate happen.

The NRA meeting with Obama or any gun grabbers would be futile. They already know that good guys with guns save lives but they have a closed mind to it. They know that if the media would just stop making mass killers famous and Hollywood stars out of them they would go away. I also think the Second Amendment argument should also be put forward that it is in the Constitution (Bill of Rights) SPECIFICALLY to keep the people (that’s us) armed in the event of an out of control government. This was so important this potential is in the preamble of the U.S. Constitution as a citizen DUTY!

Maybe the President can ask the Justice Dept. to investigate the background and associations of NRA contract lobbyist for Illinois Donald Todd Vandermyde. Chris Cox & Chuck Cunningham at NRA-ILA don’t seem to have done a resume check on their state lobbyist. Before Vandermyde sold out Otis McDonald and every gun owner in IL by putting Duty to Inform w/ criminal penalties in Rep.
