USA –  -(Ammoland.com)- When I think of the ultimate family vehicle that can double as a hunting rig, one of the first vehicles that pops in my head is the Chevy Tahoe.

There are many reasons for this, but the first reason is the amount of interior room in a Tahoe.

There is enough room in a Tahoe for an entire family with plenty of room to spare! Depending on the configuration a person purchases, a Tahoe can fit between 7-9 passengers. If a soccer mom needs to bring half a team to practice or if the family wants to go hunting, there is plenty of room for all the passengers and all the gear.

The interior of the new Tahoe has plenty of small compartments to stow away gear. As a hunter, this is extremely important because I can store gear without having to worry about my kids jumping into the vehicle and messing with breakable things. It also keeps everything organized for a long hunting trip.

The wheel base on the Tahoe is 116 inches long, so the ride is very smooth whether you are riding down a highway headed out west or riding on a two track headed to a hunting spot. The wonderful thing about the 2016 Tahoe is it feels like you are riding in a luxury pickup truck with the benefits of a pickup and many other perks.

As far as using the Tahoe as a hunting vehicle, it is tough to beat. By putting the backseats down, every possible piece of gear a hunter wants to bring on a trip can be put in the back including guns, coolers and a dog kennel for the bird dog.

From a load capacity and work standpoint, most outdoorsmen will appreciate the fact that a Tahoe can haul almost anything down the road. From a large RV to the duck boat and everything in between, the Tahoe is up to the task. The LTZ I was driving is equipped with a 5.3 liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 383 pounds of torque. The Tahoe has a towing capacity of 8,600 pounds.

One of the greatest benefits of the Tahoe is how safe the vehicle is overall, which is always important when traveling with the family. From the front airbags to the lane departure warning system and forward collision alters, this vehicle can be purchased with a wide array of safety features.

In any given year, I hunt in 5 to 7 states. On many of these hunts, I bring my family and make a family vacation out of the hunting trip. There really is no better vehicle to do that with than a 2016 Chevy Tahoe. The kids are safe and comfortable in the backseat with a DVD player at their fingertips. Mom is happy because the vehicle provides a comfortable ride and I am pleased because the Tahoe is capable of towing and going off road if I need to go search for an elk hunting spot on the other side of the mountain. The Tahoe is a great all around vehicle for the family that lives an outdoor lifestyle.

If you need more proof, just visit ANY mountain town out west where most people spend a lot of time playing on two tracks and in the mountains. One of the more popular vehicles among families is the Chevy Tahoe.

Kevin: Please re-read what I posted before spouting off (again).

My wife and I have owned two Navigators while my son owned a Tahoe and Range Rover. Having those three in our family for a number of years has allowed us to compare them almost daily. I believe that Navigator is superior in many ways.

If you criticize GM do not forget to drag Chrysler through the same mud. Or have we forgotten already that after taking a giant “bailout” at our expense, barry forced Chrysler to sell the majority share to a failing Italian company who installed a muppet of a man as CEO and has turned the Chrysler brands into rebadged Fiat garbage.

Aside from the Other recalls, look at how many manufacturers have the same recalls because they use the same components. Some just become publicized more than others.

Please look at all of the other vehicle manufacture recalls, and compare before spouting off. Thanks.

Government Motors issued yet another truck/SUV recall today, this time for a potential brake failure problem. Recently they had had ignition switch recall that involved vehicles catching on fire. The word ‘safe’ does not come to mind when thinking about Government Motors trucks and SUV’s.
