South Dakota: Capitol Carry Legislation Passes House

Washington, DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Yesterday, February 8, House Bill 1129 passed out of the South Dakota House of Representatives by a 45-17 vote.

HB 1129, sponsored by state Representative Lee Qualm (R-21) and state Senator Betty Olson (R-28), will allow for individuals with an enhanced South Dakota carry permit to carry concealed in courthouses and the Capitol.

HB 1129 was passed out of the House State Affairs Committee Last week by a 7-6 vote.

Please contact your state Representative and thank him or her if they supported HB 1129.

Now, HB 1129 moves to the Senate where it will await a committee referral for further consideration. Please contact your state Senator and urge him or her to support HB 1129 when it comes up for a vote.
