Roseville, CA -(AmmoLand.com)- The Handgun Roster is a thorn in the side of all California gun owners.

Before you go to buy a handgun, you probably check the list on the AG’s website and find that the gun you really want to purchase isn’t allowed in the state because of a plethora of reasons, with one of the most common being that the manufacturer IMPROVED the design of the gun by adding extra safety features or taking out a design flaw.

That’s right, if a gun manufacturer listens to complaints of customers and redesigns their gun, it can no longer be sold in the state of California.

That’s why FPC has teamed up with Assembly member Devon Mathis (R-Visalia) in introducing AB 2508.

>> HELP US PASS AB 2508

While we would love to use a magic wand and get rid of the handgun roster in its entirety, that just isn’t something that can happen through the Legislature. Our partner, the Calguns Foundation, is working on a lawsuit to do just that.

But in the meantime, AB 2508 will at least fix the problem of handguns that are improved because of safety concerns and consumer complaints being removed from the Roster.

AB 2508 will allow handguns to be reinstated to California’s diminishing Handgun Roster if it did not fail a safety test, allowing the handgun manufacturer to make necessary improvements based on customer feedback and safety concerns.

RESTORE GUNS TO THE HANDGUN ROSTER

While it is only a step in the right direction, it is the direction that gun rights needs to be moving in. Instead of just opposing the multitude of anti-gun bills introduced, we will also be pushing to restore the rights that have been taken away from you.

AB 2508 helps to restore some of those rights.

Please help us pass AB 2508 by signing the petition and please consider joining FPC or making a donation in order to ensure we have the resources to fight to pass this bill into law.

A better solution would be that all manufacturers that have firearms that are banned in CA for civilian use, to stop selling any firearms to all law enforcement agencies in the State. That will get their attention.

What REALLY needs to happen is for some lawyer type wordsmiths to get together ahd craft a federal level lawsuit against the state for this list resulting in interference in IntarState Commerce…. that is one of the few jobs assigned FedGov, tl “make regular”, that means, assure it is not impeded and works properly (not pass a bazillion laws restricting, impinging upon, limiting, etc). And its one of the things on which they’ve the poorest track record. This list means an out of state manufacturer cannot sell their product in California… imagine if Pepsi were to have one product they… Read more »

I have no regret fleeing the PDRC (People’s Democratic Republic of California) over 20 years ago. It just gets worse and worse there every year from what I can see. Honest citizens deprived of the ability to protect themselves in public from armed psychos and career criminals.

Goof for you. Someday ….

California is a case of Socialist America . Their tax issues will be your tax issues as America heads down the road to Socialism. An unarmed peasant is a sharecropper that will pay tax to live in his own home, unopposed to the oppressive government we have.
States making jobs growing illegal weed , setting the stage for government grab of all states by using RICO.

Wild Bill

“The government” would more likely use the Comprehensive Forfeiture Act of 1984, which empowers “the government” to take your property, WITHOUT TRIAL, and keep said property, on the mere suspicion of “illegal weed” being on your property. For example: your daughter’s boyfriend attends your Sunday barbaque and weenie roast. Unknown to anyone except the boyfriend, he has “illegal weed” on him. Upon leaving your house, boyfriend gets in his car, commits a minor traffic violation and the local gendarme nabs him and finds the weed. By applying the CFA of 1984 you forfeit your (all of your) property to “the… Read more »
