Saint Paul, MN -(AmmoLand.com)- We’re excited to unveil our 2015 Legislative Scorecard!

With the 2016 legislative session just getting started, and new gun control bills on the table, it’s critically important that every single gun owner in Minnesota understand how their Representative and Senator voted during the 2015 session.

Our scorecard contains the complete gun rights details of the 2015 session, including every single vote on every scored bill and amendment on the floor of the Minnesota House and Senate.

Legislators were scored using a simple 0% – 100% scoring system, with points deducted for missed votes.

Since Minnesota does have a citizen legislature, legislators can be excused for personal or professional reasons related to their regular employment – therefore some legislator’s voting records are incomplete. See the footnotes on the scorecard pages for more detail about individual legislators.

In addition to legislator scores, our scorecard also contains our 2015 legislative awards – given to the strongest supporters of gun rights in the Minnesota legislature.

Our awards are:

  • The Minuteman Award: The Minuteman Award is given to recognize the lifetime contributions of a Minnesotan in protecting and advancing the constitutional rights of gun owners in Minnesota.
  • Friend of the Second Amendment Awards: This award recognizes a select group of legislators that have contributed the most to advocacy, public policy, and legislation on behalf of Minnesota’s gun owners.
  • Honorable Mention: This designation honors legislators that have stood tall to support the constitutional rights of Minnesota’s gun owners.

We’re fortunate in Minnesota to have so many strong supporters of the constitutional rights of gun owners in the Minnesota House & Senate.

This is our first annual legislative scorecard. Following the end of the 2016 legislative session, you’ll see an updated scorecard with all votes from the 2016 session – along with updated session and lifetime scores for each legislator. Performance on our scorecard will factor heavily into grading decision by the Caucus for the upcoming elections – and will be one of the endorsement criteria used by the Minnesota Gun Owners PAC.

A special thanks to MN Gun Owners Caucus Research Chair Jeff Shuberg for his work in putting the raw vote data together – we couldn’t have done it without you at our side as a volunteer leader!

The House Vote has only five descriptions, but there are six Y/N columns. Am I missing something?
