Kingsport, TN -(AmmoLand.com)- Taylor Brands LLC, makers of cutlery and related tools under its portfolio of well known brands that includes Schrade and Old Timer, announces the appointment of Brothers & Company and Dollahon PR for marketing support roles.

Brothers will lead brand strategy, creative development and advertising implementation. Dollahon PR will lead trade and consumer public relations. The two agencies, both in Tulsa, Okla., will collaborate on marketing outreach.

“Taylor Brands has sustained consistent annual growth in recent years to become a leader in our category, mostly from these great brands earning quality retail placement due to product performance,” said Jody Agnew, Taylor Brands vice president of sales. “Now it’s time for focused marketing efforts to take our already strong pull-through at retail to the next level.”

“Brothers and Dollahon PR were introduced to us through recommendations and we did find them to be a good fit during our review. They are officially onboard and we’re off and running.”

Both agencies have expertise in working with top brands that cater to outdoors enthusiasts who are passionate about activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and boating. Among Brothers clients are Remington, Mossy Oak, Carhartt and Bushnell. Dollahon PR has been instrumental in the return to prominence of fishing brands Lew’s, Gene Larew and Bobby Garland.

“Taylor Brands owns some of the most iconic names in the outdoors and we’re delighted about the opportunity to work with them,” said Eric Barnes, senior vice president at Brothers. “First step is to conduct and evaluate consumer research. Then we’ll develop brand strategies and corresponding messaging. Together with the Dollahon group, we’ll roll out the overall brand campaigns.”

Founded by Stewart Taylor in 1975 and headquartered in Kingsport, Tenn., Taylor Brands owns Schrade, Old Timer, Uncle Henry and Imperial, with some dating back more than 100 years.

Within these product lines, and also through a licensing agreement with the popular Smith & Wesson brand, the company designs, manufactures and distributes fixed and folding knives, collapsible batons, tactical pens, handcuffs, tactical and survival accessories, and flashlights.
